Folks, let’s face it. Our classrooms are going to look a little different this year. AI, specifically ChatGPT, is going to change the way we design learning experiences and assess student mastery. I’ll be honest, when I first explored the ChatGPT platform I was terrified. As I have dug deeper into the technology and its capabilities, I realized that while it does pose significant challenges — it also presents us with some pretty amazing opportunities. In this series, we will explore what AI is capable of, its implications in the classroom, and how it can benefit both teachers and students. #27. Unexpected Lessons from Remote Teaching

I typically use my time "off" during the summer to prepare for the upcoming school year.  Well, this has definitely not been the typical summer and I have had to be a little more creative in my planning. Like many of you, I don't know exactly what school will look like next year. What I do know for sure is that it won't look like what I am used to! Therefore, I have been focusing my energies on building effective, engaging and sustainable practices that will work in the face-to-face AND remote classroom. No small feat, right? I have honed in on three questions to guide my reflective process this summer: What went well during remote learning? What did not g o well? How do I know it went well? What data or evidence do I have to guide my reflection? How can I use the answers to these questions to improve my course design? Here are six things that learned from my student surveys: 1.
